MTA NSW unveils new and improved MyTradeStart Training Facility following acquisition

Following our acquisition of My Trade Start (MTS) in September 2023, we at the Motor Traders' Association of NSW (MTA NSW) are proud to announce the refurbishment of the MTS Training facility. Located in Auburn, it is designed to equip hundreds of Sydney students with industry-ready training.

The extensive refurbishment of My Trade Start includes modern spaces that emulate the workshop environment, ensuring students can seamlessly transition from training to the workplace. Reflecting the rapidly changing demands of the automotive sector, we will also offer our electric vehicle (EV) training in a new dedicated EV training hub, ensuring apprentices gain the future-focused skills necessary for a successful career.

In addition to refurbishments, we've implemented our renowned training standards across all courses, offering apprentices the opportunity to learn from expert trainers who bring industry-leading knowledge and passion into the training experience.

Stavros Yallouridis, CEO of MTA NSW, says the refurbished My Trade Start facility complements our existing onsite training model: “With the opening of these training facilities, we can tailor our training even further to meet the individual needs of each student, whether that be through hands-on, onsite experience or in a classroom setting.”

My Trade Start offers six accredited courses, including certificates in Automotive Refinishing Technology, Automotive Body Repair Technology, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Automotive Electrical Technology, and Automotive Air Conditioning Technology.

The registered training organisation is focused on meeting the diverse needs of apprentices, employers, and the wider automotive industry, focusing on practical, career-focused learning that can be immediately applied in the workplace.

With smaller class sizes, students also benefit from more personalised mentorship and one-on-one time with trainers, fostering a collaborative learning environment where they can build valuable connections with their peers and industry leaders. Financial support options are also available, making high-quality training more accessible to aspiring automotive professionals.
Claire Brown, Training Manager at My Trade Start, says: “The refurbished facilities give our students a better learning experience. We're making sure they’re not just learning but preparing for the future of automotive work, so it’s all about giving them the tools and skills they need to hit the ground running.”
Located in Auburn, Sydney, My Trade Start serves as a dedicated hub for automotive training, complementing our existing onsite training model. Our renowned training programs also earned us a spot as a finalist in the 2024 NSW Large Training Provider of the Year Awards.
