Recalled Vehicles Fitted with Deadly Takata Airbags to be Denied Insurance Coverage




Six car insurers will now deny coverage to recalled vehicles fitted with the airbags after an accident, if the owner can’t show they have taken necessary measures to have them replaced. This news follows the recent NSW Government’s Road Transport (Vehicle Registration) Regulations, allowing for the suspension of registration for vehicles fitted with Takata airbags, meaning drivers will not be able to renew their rego until they replace the potential deadly airbags.
