Taking the lead in Automotive Training with MyTradeStart Acquisition

MTA NSW has acquired Career Options Australia Pty Ltd, trading as MyTradeStart (MTS), a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in Auburn. This strategic acquisition enhances training options for apprentices and employers in the automotive sector, addressing the industry's chronic skills shortage.  

With 400 students currently enrolled at MyTradeStart and an additional 2,000 students with MTA NSW, this acquisition significantly expands the organisation's reach in automotive training. MyTradeStart will continue to operate independently while benefiting from MTA NSW's support. 

Stavros Yallouridis, CEO of MTA NSW, emphasised the significance of the acquisition. "This isn't just a business move; it's a commitment to the future of the automotive industry. As the largest private provider of automotive training in the state, we have a responsibility to offer diverse and high-quality training options.”   

“The addition of MyTradeStart to our portfolio marks a meaningful step in fulfilling that responsibility," he added.

The acquisition comes at a critical time as the automotive industry faces a perfect storm of skills shortages and additional pressures on existing staff, all of which hinder industry growth and progression.   

"With this purchase, we aim to address the skills shortage head-on. We're not just expanding; we're creating a pathway for quality staff and apprentices to enter and enrich the industry," Yallouridis further explained.
